About Mr Goyal MBBS, MS, FRCS 


Mr Goyal trained in Cardiff Breast Unit and was appointed a Consultant in Cardiff & Vale University Local Health Board, Cardiff in 2003.

Mr Goyal was the Lead Clinician for Cardiff Breast Services during 2007 - 2017. During his tenure he has modernised the service by developing new dedicated Breast Centre at Llandough Hospital.

He is Consultant Surgeon with special interest in all aspects of Breast Diseases including oncoplastic breast surgery.


Mr Goyal is committed in providing the highest level of care in breast diseases and he treats over 100 breast cancers every year. 
He also takes part in the Breast Cancer Screening programme of Wales.

He also takes part in the Breast Cancer Screening programme of Wales.
He keeps abreast with the latest technological developments and takes part in major international trials in breast cancer.

His busy clinical work often with complex cases has contributed to his expertise in dealing with all types of cases.

Mr Goyal can offer surgical treatment for benign and malignant breast conditions, re-constructive surgery and sentinel node biopsy. He is also a tutor on the New Start Programme, the Department of Health national training programme for sentinel node biopsy.

Mr Goyal works with Cardiff Medical School to train doctors of the future.

He is on the faculty of Royal College of Surgeons London & teaches Medical Law.

Getting to know Mr Goyal...

Mr Goyal is passionate about caring for his patients at a time, what he understands is a very vulnerable and emotional.

He is pleased that the feedback he has received from his patients has always complimented him on his caring, honest and easy to understand explanations.

At private hospitals where he works, the patients and staff compliment him on 2 things in particular - exceptional operating speed, without compromising safety and particular attention to post operative pain relief.

Mr Goyal leads the Breast Centre Charity that he established in 2010. Through this charity several improvements have been made to the care given to Breast Cancer Patients.

He has organised Gala Balls, Sporting Events and Strictly Top Dancer events to raise awareness and funds. He enthusiastically  trained to learn Salsa & ChaCha for six months and won the first Glitter Ball of the Strictly Top Dancer competition in 2014.

Mr Goyal lives in Cardiff with his wife and two children. He enjoys playing golf and badminton.

Cancer Diagnosis
Mr Goyal graduated in Medicine MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) in 1988.

In 1995 he became Fellow member of Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS Ed) and Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians of Glasgow (FRCS).

He was appointed as a Consultant Surgeon at Cardiff & Vale University Local Health Board, Cardiff, UK in year 2003.

Mr Goyal completed his LLM in Medical Law, this has enabled him to be well versed with patient expectations and legal obligations. It has taught him always to respect patient's wishes and confidentiality.

He is a member of Association of Breast Surgery
